The ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter Apprenticeship Program is a four-year program for all students who are indentured with the Louisiana Department of Labor. All courses are NCCER-certified. The course is competency-based, with testing for both technical knowledge and skill.
Apprenticeship training begins with the Core curriculum, which provides basic construction orientation for entry level trainees, before advancing to craft specific material.
In addition to classroom work, trainees in the Apprenticeship Program are required to accumulate 2,000 hours of on-the-job training per year.
The ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter offers apprenticeship training in:
- Carpentry
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Sheetmetal
- Sprinkler Fitter (correspondence course)
Training LocationClasses are offered four nights per week, 6:00pm-9:00pm on a semester-basis, at the ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter Training Campus: 101 Riverbend Drive, St. Rose, Louisiana.

Apprenticeships are a 4 year program and we only start new classes during the Fall Semester.
Classes are held two nights/week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.
