Thank you to Jay De La Houssaye and Matt Byres for the information provided below regarding Enterprise Fleet Management, the services they offer their clients, as well as the many benefits Enterprise Fleet Management offers to ABC members.  

How did your company get started working within the Construction Industry?
The construction industry represents a significant percentage of our customer base especially when you consider that we work with medium size fleets – generally between 15 to 125 vehicles.  What we’ve found is that these fleets are large enough to be costly and time consuming but not large enough to require a full-time fleet manager.
 
Does your company have a specialty sector in the industry?
 We typically work with small to medium size fleets that range from 15 to 125 vehicles and can include all different types of makes and models.  Our customers use a wide array of vehicle types including pickups and we have a program to handle just about any usage or mileage pattern.  With programs that cover every facet of fleet management from acquisition through disposal, Enterprise functions as a company’s full-time fleet manager.   
 
Why did you join ABC? 
 We feel it’s important to give back to an industry that means so much to us.  We work hard to support the local ABC member businesses.  Although Enterprise Fleet Management has 58 locations nationwide, our local office in Metairie operates with full-service account teams comprised of industry-leading professionals who handle the day-to-day fleet requirements for ABC member customers throughout Louisiana.  Our company was recognized in March 2009 as the “2008 National Business Partner of the Year.”  

Since joining ABC, do you think the Construction Industry has changed? (craft question depending on the member category; GC, Sub, Supplier, Associate)
 We’ve been a member of the ABC Bayou Chapter for more than 10 years now.  As the construction industry in southeast Louisiana has been impacted by the economy and multiple hurricanes including Katrina, we’ve demonstrated flexibility by customizing programs to meet the needs of individual ABC member companies to help them through these challenging times. 

What did you expect to get from your membership with ABC?
 Our staff is part of the local community and belonging to ABC provides opportunities for networking, as well as to carry on Enterprise’s nationwide commitment and support for community involvement in local communities where we do business.
 
Where did ABC not meet your expectations?
Our ABC membership has met all of our expectations. 

How much did you (or someone from your company) participate in ABC functions (golf tournaments, After Hours, Dinner meetings, etc.)?
We actively participate in as many events as possible, including sponsoring and attending golf outings and member recruiting events, hosting dinners and happy hours, and participating in programs and projects focused on giving back to the community.  Also, one of our team members, Matt Byres, is actively involved on the Bayou Chapter’s membership committee. 

Did you participate in any of the Safety/Management Education classes offered by ABC?
We haven’t up until this point but would be interested in exploring how we could in the future. 

What can ABC do to offer more to members?
We have seen a lot of positive changes over the years in terms of how the organization works to serve its members and feel strongly that ABC Bayou provides a lot of benefits to its members.
