Walton Construction Co. of Harahan recently won the contract to design and build the $182 million Fork Polk barracks renovation project in Louisiana.
The project involves the design and renovation of 13 barracks and four central energy plants.
Walton said in a news release that it plans to use an energy-efficient design in hopes of securing Environmental Design silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Construction began in March and is expected to be complete by 2012.
