
NAPA DIAMOND QUALITY COMMENDATION
Lanham, MD – The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced on May 13, 2009 that Boutte Asphalt Plant – Barriere Construction Co., LLC Boutte, LA has earned NAPA’s Diamond Quality Commendation. The diamond Quality Commendation is a unique self-assessment program that focuses on plant practices resulting in excellent product quality. As NAPA’s Chairman, James E. Weeks noted, “The Diamond Quality Commendation is an honor in which a company, their customers, their employees and the industry can take great pride. It clearly demonstrates a corporate commitment to Quality.”
NAPA developed this program in 2009. The areas evaluated in the self-assessment process are RAP and Aggregate Handling, Asphalt Storage, Drying and Mixing, Air Quality, Truck Scales, Silos and Control Rooms. Earning the Commendation exemplifies the idea of a blueprint for excellence to the pavement material that is produced.
Each area listed above is rated by answering questions related to each field. Certain questions require a mandatory “Yes” response and each area must receive at least a score of 80% or greater. The total score for all areas must be at least 85% to receive the commendation.
Supporting documentation such as technician certificates, laboratory accreditation, and third party reviews are submitted along with all the questions answered in an electronic format.
Boutte Asphalt Plant, Barriere Construction Company, LLC has joined the elite ranks of the asphalt pavement industry by earning the coveted Diamond Quality Commendation. The standard of excellence is challenging, but can be accomplished with genuine dedication to responsible practices and continuous improvement.
Barriere – Boutte Plant received the Diamond Achievement Commendation in 2000 and has renewed every year since then. We now also have the Diamond Quality Commendation to be proud of.
