ABC recently announced that they are now accepting nominations for the 2010 Chapter Committee leadership. Over the next few months, all committee and or Board member are asked to nominate a representative of a member company to serve as a Chair or Vice Chair for one of the five committees (click here to see the purpose of each committee):
--> Government Relations
--> Membership
--> Programs & Communications (includes Women's Forum)
--> Appenticeship & Craft Training
--> Management & Safety Education
Please note that you can nominate any member representative to lead any one of these committees (ie: you may currently serve on Membership, but know someone who would be great as the Chair of Mgmt & Safety Ed). The only nomination requirements are that you first ask your prospective nominee if he/she wants the leadership responsibilities associated with working in collaboration with the Chapter staff in this annual position, you provide a basic bio on the nominee (name, employer, title, contact info, previous ABC volunteer service, skills, etc), and finally why you are making the recommendation.
The process timeline for nominations and selection of these committee officers is as follows:
June 1 - September 30: Nominations accepted from all current volunteers for any Committee Chair or Vice Chair position (accepted via email only)
October 29: Selection by Board of Directors/Board of Trustees for each Committee Chair & Vice Chair
December 4: Chapter Leadership Retreat (2010 Chairs & Vice Chairs invited)
