The 2008 Apprenticeship and Craft Training Commencement and Awards Banquet was held on June 26 at Smilie's Restaurant and had over 90 attendees and 62 Graduates.
Larry Gibbs, CEO Gibbs Construction, LLC, was the keynote speaker and addressed students and guests. Students were presented awards by Rene Duplantis, chairman of the Apprenticeship Committee, Rodney Landry, chairman of the Craft Training Committee, and Angela Latino-Geier, President/CEO of the Bayou Chapter. Awards were presented to: Jamie A. Dauenhauer, PALA Interstate, LLC, Pipefitting Award; Michael R. Cooley, PALA Interstate, LLC, Carpentry Award; Corey A. Linson, Turner Industries Group, LLC., Instrumentation Award; and Sheldon Troxler received the Kit Smith Scholarship Award.
