The 2008 elections are less than five weeks away and the deadlines to register to vote are very close. Now is the time for ABC members and their employees to make sure that they are eligible to vote on Nov. 4. ABC members can visit www.abc.org/getoutthevote for state-by-state registration guidelines.
ABC now provides members with a candidate comparison flyer, which outlines where the two presidential candidates stand regarding six key issues of importance to ABC members and the construction industry. The flyer can be accessed by visiting www.abc.org/getoutthevote.
Additionally, ABC’s online voting toolkit provides members with materials that may be sent to employees about the importance of registering to vote. The toolkit includes templates for letters that can be sent directly to employees; paycheck stuffers that can be attached to employee paychecks; and flyers encouraging employees to vote.
ABC also offers a short, four-minute video that explains the key issues in the 2008 election that will impact employers as well as employees and their families. The video can be shown to all employees at any ABC member company. In this critical election year, it is important that all ABC members are informed about the issues and are registered to vote.
