ABC’s National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee announced the finalists for the 2007 ABC National Safety Excellence Awards, given each year to ABC member companies who exhibit a consistent, high-level dedication to safety training and incident prevention throughout the company.
More than 110 ABC member companies submitted applications for the awards, which are organized according to the three North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes for construction and broken down into seven different man-hour categories. The EH&S Committee selected 34 finalists based on their application data, safety training programs and Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Platinum applications from 2006 or 2007.
The Louisiana finalists for the 2007 ABC National Safety Excellence Awards are:
NAICS 238 (Specialty Trade Contractors)
Vector Electric & Controls, Inc. (Gonzales, LA), Davis Electrical Constructors, Inc. (Baton Rouge, LA) and Triad Electric & Controls, Inc. (Baton Rouge, LA).
National Safety Excellence and National Safety Merit Awards are based on data submitted via STEP Platinum applications, interviews with company safety directors and owners and site visits by ABC representatives. The National Safety Excellence and National Safety Merit Award winners will be announced during the annual Excellence in Construction Awards ceremony, June 18 at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC.
