The first HILTI Seminar on Anchoring Systems, Life Safety and Firestop was held at the Brick Oven last Wednesday and included three guest speakers: Curt McCarty of the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council; Randy Noel, board member of the Home Builders Association; and Nikki Cammon, a Hilti Field Engineer for Louisiana and Mississippi. The informative presentation was on the various applications of Hilti products and provided the attendees with opportunities for questions and answers, site crew resources for field training and literature on the vast array of anchoring, life safety, and firestop systems. Hilti even provided door prizes and was well-represented, as obvious by the numerous RED shirts throughout the crowd!
The lunch was excellent and participation was good. Of course, we’ll always make room for more to attend the next one, so be sure to keep your eyes open for our future Management Education Committee breakfast and lunch seminars. We continue to strive to add value to your membership, while providing a quality menu! For you North Shore Members, Hilti is looking into hosting a repeat seminar somewhere accommodating on the North Shore in the near future. We’ll keep you posted.
As mentioned in the last issue of the Bayou Briefs, the first installment of “Breakfast with the Barristers” was well attended. These seminars are extremely pertinent to every facet of the construction industry, even design professionals, and everyone is encouraged to sign-up for Parts II and III in the upcoming months. Future topics will include Construction Claims, Damages, and Public and Private Works Acts.
Thanks to all of our presenters and member companies who take the time, knowledge and resources to offer their expertise for our continued education. Thank you to all who continue to attend our seminars and training programs — ultimately, it’s your organization, so the more you take advantage of our offered training, the more you will benefit.
